Französische Antillen (Französisch-Westindien)

Die Französischen Antillen (auch Französisch-Westindien) bestehen aus den zwei französischen Übersee-Departements Guadeloupe (1.328 km²) und Martinique (1.128 km²) sowie Saint-Barthélemy (21 km²) und Saint-Martin (54 km²).

Sie gehören zu den Inseln über dem Winde. Insgesamt sind sie 2.831 km² groß.

In addition, some of the islands of the present and former British West Indies were once ruled by France. On some of them, a French-based creole language is spoken; specific words and expressions may vary among the islands.
